We present six particularly “green” offers for an environmentally friendly holiday.
Nature holiday at the Baltic Sea
Digital Detox at the Baltic Sea is available in this ecologically designed cottage without TV, WLAN or mobile phone reception. Hostess Anne selected all building materials consciously pollution free, the walls were dammed with hemp and plastered with clay. This apartment is equipped with recycled and biological materials down to the smallest detail: The floor consists of a former dance floor, is heated by a clay stove with certified wood and the detergent is also organic. Here you can experience a completely healthy holiday.
Glass house made from bottles
A truly unique accommodation is this colorful house in Brazil that is almost entirely made of old glass bottles. Host Jaime has built this house for over 20 years with the aim of raising awareness for recycling and environmental protection. The glass walls provide a clear view of the surrounding hills and the special flora and fauna of the South Brazilian island of Florianópolis.
Overnight stay in a mini house
Simply concentrate on what is absolutely necessary and thus save space and resources – so-called Tiny Houses are ideal for this. In this small space miracle on the outskirts of Hamburg guests can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Schnaakenmoor nature reserve and escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. The accommodation is completely equipped with a living room, bath and an energy-saving induction stove in the kitchen. At night the sparkling stars can be observed through the ceiling window in the bedroom.
Autarkic bungalow in Portugal
A facility recycled from top to bottom finds guests in this ecological apartment in Portugal. The sofa in the living room is an upcycling project made of old jeans clothes, a surfboard has been converted into a kitchen shelf and the floor in the bathroom is made of pine wood and wine cork. The apartment is supplied with electricity by a wind and solar system and has an independent water circuit. The neighbouring farm offers biodynamically grown products and holiday fun with donkeys, ducks and dogs.
Ecological farm holidays
This Cottage of natural materials such as clay, sand and straw is located on the Canadian island of Mayne, British Columbia. The house is surrounded by nature, a sheep pasture and orchards. Interested visitors can accompany hostess Alexis shearing sheep, picking berries or collecting eggs. To encourage their guests to travel car-free, Alexis offers a free shuttle service to and from the ferry port on days without bus transport.
Less is more in Neuruppin
One large apartment with natural furnishings offers host and beekeeper Georg in the old town of Neuruppin. Self-made wood furniture from recycled materials determine the Look of this dwelling, by which the host would like to protect valuable resources. From here you can discover the wonderful surroundings with lakes and forests. Beekeeping is also open to curious guests.
