Madness, eine der bekanntesten englischen Bands der letzten 30 Jahre, geht mit dem erfolgreichsten Indiepublisher IMAGEM einen weltweiten Verlagsdeal ein. Mit ihrem letzten Studioalbum „Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da“ konnte die Band ihre bedeutende Stellung in der britischen Musikszene weiter untermauern, was The Observer mit den Worten „The evergreen joys of the band’s giddy ska pop“ nochmals hervorhob.
Madness verkörpern mit ihrer Musik die Vielfalt der britischen Kultur. Die Band hatte ebenso die Ehre, bei der Feier des Diamant-Jubiläums der Queen im Buckingham Palace aufzutreten, wie bei der Abschlusszeremonie der Olympischen Spiele in London im Jahre 2012. Mit ihrem unverwechselbaren Sound lieferte die Band den Soundtrack für ein multikulturelles und lebhaftes England.
Im Zuge eines Auftritts am 16.September 2013 im Pariser Olympiastadion wurde der Publishingvertrag zwischen der Kultband und IMAGEM Music unterzeichnet.
Die Vereinbarung schließt die Alben „Wonderful“ (1999), „The Liberty of Norton Folgate“ (2009) und „Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da“ (2012) ein.
Kim Frankiewicz, Managing Director IMAGEM Music UK, kommentierte den Abschluss: „Madness are a fantastically British band; since the late 70s they’ve provided a sonic narrative to British culture. We’re absolutely delighted to be working with them moving forward, and also representing the last three albums from their stellar catalogue“.
